The problem of trying

I think we have all heard people say, “I’m trying to be a better Christian,” or, “I need to try harder to have God be part of my life.” I know I’m guilty of this. With all good intentions, this logic is wrong! And I’m so glad for that!

It is not about what WE do. Wow, I could reach up to God, run towards Him, chase after Him with all I have. And He will still be with me as much as he was when my back was turned to Him. His grace was still with me, His love was still pouring over me. Oh, this is so hard to understand because of how much God is UNLIKE the people of this world! If you turn your back on someone, won’t they walk away? Give up on you? How can we comprehend this INCREDIBLE GOD who is holding us…

The Best Gift!

BarbadosIt is good to know when we receive good things that we can praise the Father of Lights for His good and perfects gifts which come from above (James 1:17). When we are hurting or broken, it is good to know that we can come into the beautiful presence of our Heavenly Father in prayer and worship and receive comfort (Psalm 34:18).

God does not change and He is the same yesterday, today and forever (Hebrews 13:8). The Bible says God is the “Father of lights” and that there is no variation or shifting shadow (James 1:17). God is good and He does not change whatever your situation. So, you can expect God to be constantly good and there for you (Romans 8:31).

When we come into relationship with God through receiving Jesus we become accepted children of The Kingdom (Ephesians 1:6). In the New Covenant we are not servants…

Hope For Today

Recently I saw something. It wasn’t anything bad more of an implication. To describe it to you further would not bless you nor would it honor God. Immediately what  came to mind is Philippians 4:8

Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable-if anything is excellent or praiseworthy-think about such things.

If anything is excellent or praiseworthy really resonates with me. If what we think and talk about or look at and share is excellent or worthy of praise, it can only come from God. The Temporary And The Permanent

The nations of the world are temporary. Only kingdom will last forever. “In the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which will never be destroyed, and that kingdom will not be left for another people; it will crush and put to an end all these kingdoms, but it will itself endure forever.” (Daniel 2:44 NASB). To the apostle John, God gave this vision of the consummation of Daniel’s prophecy: “The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ; and He will reign forever and ever.” (Rev. 11:15 NASB). The greatest nation on earth will be pulled down, and so will the tiniest nation; but the kingdom of God and Christ will stand forever.
Should not every citizen of Christ’s kingdom give attention to the King’s commands? Should not His desires become ours? He said, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.” (Mark 16:15 NASB). Should not every citizen of the world make haste to find his way into the Kingdom of God? That is something permanent!
