Seeing the Glory of Almighty God

Faith Love n Desire

Moses-300x168

God allowed Moses to see His glory so that he might be changed by the sight of it—and the same is true for us today. God reveals His glory to us so that by seeing it, we might be changed into His very own image!

Today, Jesus Christ is the express image of who God is. When our Lord became flesh, it was as a full revelation of the heavenly Father’s mercy, grace, goodness and readiness to forgive. God wrapped up everything of His nature and character in Jesus. And any revelation of His glory to us now is meant to change us into an expression of Christ.

The apostle Paul understood well the purpose and effect of seeing the glory of God. He saw it as power to change the beholder, to revolutionize the life of every follower of Christ. “But we all, with open face beholding as in…

Flourish

iStock_000014156955SmallThere are times when we find ourselves in a season of life where we are simply worn-out and tired. We all have full schedules, we are constantly moving from one thing to the next and it rarely seems as if we are able to get ahead. The more we work to go forward the more we seem to fall behind. We often live like the proverbial hamster on a treadmill, the faster we run the more noise we make yet we are going nowhere fast.

It is when things get busy that we find ourselves neglecting our devotional times of prayer. This is because we are focusing so much on the work and what we think needs to get done instead of focusing on God who can grace us to accomplish more than we can ever imagine. The time spent in prayer can catapult us further ahead than we could…

Strength for the Storm

A Safe Harbor is Jesus

No matter what storm rages in your life today no matter how fierce the winds or how high the waves may be – where you are is no surprise to God. Heaven is not in a panic. Keep your gaze on Him and your glance on the raging waters. “Lash yourself” to Him and He will supply everything you need to stand firm in the storm.

Romans 5:3-5 (NLT) “We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they are good for us–they help us learn to endure. Endurance then develops strength of character in us, and character strengthens our confident expectation of salvation.”

Life is filled with storms of one kind or another. In the midst of those storms, we tend to respond as if God has somehow been caught off guard. The storm makes no sense. We can’t explain why…

We Are Called To Be A Channel Of Mercy

“Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart.” Prov. 3:3 (KJV)

In Christ, God has broken the cycle of judgment and retaliation. We have received mercy–underserved and unearned love. In the fifth Beatitude, Jesus invites us to share His character trait of mercy. But inflow and outgo must be matched. Mercy must be given away if we want to live in its flow…
The test of the greatness Christ offers us is to be merciful to those who do not return it. When we’ve endured disappointments, injustice, or hurts, we do not become bitter or sour but draw on and express mercy. This is not easy–not until we remember how merciful Christ has been to us. We are called to be a channel of divine mercy flowing through us to others. This is the source of the silent strength of greatness. Lloyd Ogilvie

“Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy.” Matthew 5:7 (NASB)

The Gospel According To Jesus – Part 44

bible
“Are even you still lacking in understanding? Don’t you realize that whatever goes into the mouth passes into the stomach and is eliminated? But what comes out of the mouth comes from the heart, and this defiles a man. For from the heart comes evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, sexual immoralities, thefts, false testimonies, blasphemies. These are the things that defile a man, but eating with unwashed hands does not defile a man.”
Matthew 15:16-20 HCSB)
