A Small jar of oil went a long way

Naomi Fata

a little oil Awhile ago God deeply impressed 2 Kings 4 on my heart. It is the account of the widow with two sons, who had no money and feared they would be sold as slaves.

2 Kings 4:1-7

The wife of a man from the company of the prophets cried out to Elisha, “Your servant my husband is dead, and you know that he revered the Lord. But now his creditor is coming to take my two boys as his slaves.” Elisha replied to her, “How can I help you? Tell me, what do you have in your house?”

“Your servant has nothing there at all,” she said, “except a small jar of olive oil.”

Elisha said, “Go around and ask all your neighbors for empty jars. Don’t ask for just a few. Then go inside and shut the door behind you and your sons. Pour oil into all the jars, and as each…

Flourish

Beautiful sea landscape Sometimes life gives us wake up calls. We wake to realize that we are nowhere we wanted to be. So we try to change our location, job, and relationships but the reality is where ever we go, there we are. Running faster is not always the answer. When we find ourselves lost, sometimes we just need to stay put until the the cavalry arrives.

An All-inclusive Attachment To Christ

“Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God. We have come to know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and the one who abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him. By this, love is perfected with us, so that we may have confidence in the day of judgment; because as He is, so also are we in this world.” 1 John 4:15:17 (NASB)

To accept Christ is to know the meaning of the words “Because as He is, so also are we in this world.” We accept His friends as our friends, His enemies as our enemies, His ways as our ways, His rejection as our rejection, His cross as our cross, His life as our life and His future as our future. The Gospel According To Jesus – Part 46

bible
“O men of little faith! Why are you so worried about having no food? Won’t you ever understand? Don’t you remember at all the 5,000 I fed with five loaves, and the basketfuls left over? Don’t you remember the 4,000 I fed, and all that was left?”
Matthew 16:8-10 (LNT)
