Not Your Own

helper
It is sharing and caring,
Giving and forgiving,
Loving and being loved,
Walking hand in hand,
Talking heart to heart,
Seeing through each other’s eyes,
Laughing together,
Weeping together,
And always trusting and believing
And thanking God for each other…
For love that is shared
is a beautiful thing —
It enriches the soul
and makes the heart sing.
Helen Steiner Rice – “A Touch of Joy”

Never say: “It is nobody’s business but my own what I do with my life.” It is not true. Your life is put in your hands as a trust, for many others beside yourself. If you use it well, it will make many others happy; if you abuse it, it will harm many others beside yourself.

Will I Trust His Love for Me?

Lisas14's Blog

When I look into the windows of my soul I do not like what I see; yet in the beginning God created the Heavens and earth, in His image He created me.

Will I trust his love for me?

Though I wander in the wilderness of my human frailty; Will I ever cross over to the promise land of my God given destiny?

Will I trust his love for me?

The need the want and pain in my soul; I feel I’m stuck in a deep dark hole. Yet you tell me the Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. He leads, He guides and restores my soul.

Will I trust his love for me?

Oh how I wish someone would hear my desperate plea. When, where, how on bended knee. You tell me His plans are not my plans and they are to prosper me.

Will I trust…

Let the little children come to me…

I Sing Because I'm Free

Any adult who has volunteered for a Vacation Bible School program knows that it is anything but a vacation!  There is lots of praying, planning, organizing, preparing, and coordinating of schedules and volunteers to pull it all off.  But somehow, it always comes together in the end!

I may have a little rhythm, but a good dancer- I am definitely not!  Nevertheless, I pulled up my cowboy boots every day and taught the rip-roarin’, rootin’ tootin’, rodeo songs and dances each night (along with my trusty sidekick!) for our VBS this past week- all for the love of Jesus.  I really must love Him to embarrass myself in this manner.  Even my girls snickered as they watched me galloping on the stage.  Even so, as I look out from the stage and see the wide-eyed children excitedly worshiping, singing, and dancing, my pride melts away.  It is worth it all!

Following Christ

“He who loves his life loses it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it unto life eternal. If anyone serves Me, he must follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also; if anyone serves Me, the Father will honor him.”

It ought to be the great care of every one of us to follow the Lord fully. We must in a course of obedience to God’s will, and service to His honor, follow Him universally, without dividing; uprightly, without dissembling; cheerfully, without disputing; and constantly, without declining: and this is following Him fully. Matthew Henry

A disciple of Christ is one that gives up himself to be wholly at Christ’s disposing; to learn what He teaches, to believe what He reveals, to do what He commands, to avoid what He forbids, to suffer what is inflicted by Him or for Him, in expectation of that reward which He hath promised, Such a one is a disciple of Christ, and he, and none else, is a Christian. The Gospel According To Jesus – Part 77

bible
“When the Son of Man comes in His glory, escorted by all the angels of heaven, He will sit upon His royal throne, and all the nations will be assembled before Him. Then He will separate them into two groups, as a shepherd separates sheep from goats. The sheep He will place on His right hand, and the goats on His left. The King will then say to those on His right: ‘Come. You have My Father’s blessing! Inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave Me food, I was thirsty and you gave Me drink. I was a stranger and you welcomed Me, naked and you clothed Me. I was ill and you comforted Me, in prison and you came to visit Me.’ Then the just will ask Him: ‘Lord, when did we seer You hungry and feed You thirsty and give You drink? When did we welcome You away from home or clothe You in Your nakedness? When did we visit You when You were ill or in prison?’ And the King will answer them:’I assure you, as often as you did it for one of My least brothers, you did it for Me.’
The He will say to those on His left: ‘Out of My sight, you condemned, into everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels! I was hungry and you gave Me no food, I was thirsty and you gave Me no drink. I was away from home and you gave Me no welcome, naked and you gave Me no clothing, I was ill and in prison and you did not come to comfort Me.’ Then they in turn will ask: ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry or thirsty or away from home or naked or ill or in prison and not attend You in Your needs?’ He will answer them: I assure you, as often as you neglected to do it to one of these least ones, you neglected to do it to Me.’ These will go off to eternal punishment and the just to ete3rnal life.”
Matthew 25:31-46 (NAB)
