Amazing Grace

“For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is a gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9 (NASB)
We have heard or sung the hymn, “Amazing Grace” so often that we can easily forget how amazing God’s love and grace really are. We do not deserve the love of God. In fact, if we received from God what we truly deserved, condemnation for eternity would be the result. God loves us, not because of all the good we have done, but in spite of all the bad we have done. This is grace–unmerited favor–at work.

The Gospel According To Jesus – Part 85

“Have you never read what David did when he was hungry, he and those with him: how he went into the house of God in the days of Abiathar the high priest, and ate the showbread, which is not lawful to eat except for the priests, and also gave some to those who were with him?
The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath. Therefore the Son of Man is also Lord of the Sabbath.”
Mark 2:25-28 (NKJV)
