“The angel said to the women, ‘Do not be afraid; for I know that you are looking for Jesus who has been crucified. He is not here, for He has risen, just as He said. Come, see the place where He was lying.'” Matthew 28:5-6 (NASB)
Almighty God, the true light of life, whose power no earthly force can challenge and whose reign over and among us no alien god can shake, we bless You for the saving work of Your Son, whom heaven has enthroned as King of kings and Lord of lords. We sing the praise of Him who died but is now alive forevermore. We rejoice in His living presence which we feel in church, in groups at prayer, and in our solitary vigil when we retreat and are alone with Him. We are stirred over what a friend we have found in Jesus and how through His Easter triumph our work, our worship, and our living of these days are sanctified and blessed abundantly. Glad are our hearts today as we lift our songs to heaven, and before all who will see and hear we leap with joy and declare our God is alive.
