The Future Is As Bright As The Promises Of God

“But if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.” 1 John 1:7 (NASB)
John acknowledges in this verse that even though we walk in the light, in fellowship with Christ, we may sin. In such an instance there is a way of forgiveness through the blood of Jesus Christ. This calls to mind the Biblical doctrine of atonement. This word, also found in Romans 5:11, is elsewhere translated by some form of the word reconciliation. It is a term that looks at man as an enemy of God because of sin, but as reconciled to God through the blood of Christ shed on the cross for us.
The Greek philosopher Socrates once said, “There may be a God who can be both just and merciful and still forgive man’s sin, but I do not see how He can do it.” In the wonderful plan of atonement called the gospel, God in His wisdom has accomplished that seeming impossibility. He has been just in justifying sinful man (Romans 3:26). He has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus (2 Corinthians 5:18). Only Jesus could do this, for He alone is the only begotten, sinless Son of God.

The Gospel According To Jesus – Part 126

“So when you see the ‘abomination of desolation,’ spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. Let him who is on the housetop not go down into the house, nor enter to take anything out of his house. And let him who is in the field not go back to get his clothes. But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days! And pray that your flight may not be in winter.”
Mark 13:14-18 (NKJV)
