The Future Is As Bright As The Promises Of God

“Do not let your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also.” John 14:1-3 (NASB)
Jesus left this earth 2,000 years ago to prepare an eternal home for all who accept Him as Savior. When we consider that God made this earth and everything in it in six days, and He has been working on our future home for twenty centuries, we cannot but wonder at the beauty that home will display. And it is in that home that “He might show the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus” (Eph. 2:7).
In addition to our heavenly home, God will give us a body to match that home. Heaven will be a glory world, and we will need a body of glory in order to live there. God has made provision for that, and in 1 John 3:2 we are told, “Beloved, now we are children of God, and it has not appeared as yet what we will be. We know that when He appears, we will be like Him, because we will see Him as He is.”
Who could possibly find fault with a God who created the universe in which we live? Who would dare reject or ignore a God who created man in His own image, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life? How could anyone refuse to obey a God who loved sinners so much that He provided salvation for sinful man at the cost of the life’s blood of His Son, sending Jesus into the world to die for us that we might be made fit for the kingdom of heaven?
God gave the most precious treasure heaven had, and then turned His head while wicked men nailed Jesus to the cross. God did not intervene at Calvary because He loved us so much He wanted to provide salvation for us and have us with Him through all eternity. He will go with every child of His all the way through this life, and on through the valley of the shadow of death. Every provision was made for us in the Lord Jesus Christ, and all this is ours through Him.

  2. birdchirp,
This post is the most impassioned plea I’ve read in a long time for all humans to come to their God, who loves us immeasurably and gave His only begotten Son to die for us so that we can live with Him forever. My prayer is for many more to accept Him as their Savior.
