The knowledge of Christ brings faith, faith in Christ brings hope; and we hope in God because we have heard the good news of the atonement. Apart from Christ there is no hope.
Without the knowledge of Jesus Christ and Him crucified, man cannot believe unto salvation, he cannot possess hope in God, he cannot pray acceptably. The only way man can converse with God and have fellowship with Him in prayer, and the only way man can hope for God to hear his prayer is by living faith in Christ our Mediator.
