The Future Is As Bright As The Promises Of God

Come And See

“Phillip found Nathanael and said to him, ‘We have found Him of whom Moses in the Law and also the Prophets wrote–Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.’ Nathanael said to him, ‘Can any good thing come out of Nazareth?’ Phillip said to him, ‘Come and see.'” John 1:45-46 (NASB)
There is no way we can learn enough theological arguments to convince someone to enter into a relationship with Jesus Christ. The best we can do is to introduce someone to Him. People who have studied what makes churches grow have taken surveys and discovered that it is not the particular doctrine of a church that make people join. It is not their high-profile advertising. Its not even the sermons of the pastor. Seventy to ninety percent of the people who join a church do so because a friend or relative invited them. Those friends didn’t have seminary degrees nor did they consider themselves biblical scholars. All they did was give an invitation–something as simple as saying, “Come and see.”
