The Future Is As Bright As The Promises Of God

“‘For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the LORD, ‘plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me, and I will listen to you. You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.'” Jeremiah 29:11-13 (NASB)
Our world is passing through a time of change that is marked by painful conflict — wars, strife, violence in the streets, sons turning on their fathers, fathers turning on their sons, innocent man, women and children beheaded by religious zealots, the name of the one true God removed from schools and the public square, and the list goes on and on. The settled serenity of what we thought of as the “good old days” is not foreseeable again within the lifetime of most of us. We are told that the shape of the future is marvelous, but most of the time we have difficulty in understanding what the shape of the future is going to be. It is very easy for Christian’s to become depressed in these days. The best course is to yield ourselves to the Lord: “How blessed are those who observe His testimonies, who seek Him with all their heart” (Psalm 119:2).
