The Future Is As Bright As The Promises Of God

The True Light Came Into The World

“He came unto His own, and those who were His own did not receive Him. But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name, who were born, not of blood not of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.” John 1:11-14 (NASB)
People become children of God through faith in Jesus Christ, who came to reveal His Father. The Gospel offers relationship with God. The God who created all things by His Word brought the possibility of a new form of existence by that same Word who became flesh. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is an expression of the character of the kind of God who would create a world and continue to care about it. The problems of this world derive from humanity’s lack of faith in its Creator, but salvation comes through faith in that Creator who reveals Himself fully through His Son.
“He has rescued us from the domain of darkness and transferred us into the kingdom of the Son He loves, in whom we have redemption, and the forgiveness of sins. He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation; because by Him everything was created, in heaven and on earth, the visible and the invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities — all things have been created through Him and for Him.” Colossians 1:13-16 (HCSB)

Give Me Such A Faith As This

O, for a faith that will not shrink,
Though pressed by every foe,
That will not tremble on the brink
Of every earthly woe!

A faith that shines more bright and clear
When tempests rage without;
That when in danger knows no fear,
In darkness feels no doubt.

Lord, give me such a faith as this,
And then, whate’er may come,
I’ll taste, e’en here, the hallowed bliss
Of an eternal home.

A Dangerous Enemy

“Be alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. Stand firm against him, and be strong in your faith. Remember that your family of believers all over the world is going through the same kind of suffering you are.” 1 Peter 5:8-9 (NLT)
“Satan is a dangerous enemy. He is a serpent who can bite us when we least expect it. He is a destroyer (Rev. 12:11; ‘Abaddon’ and ‘Apollyon’ both mean ‘destruction’) and accuser (Rev. 12:9-11; Zech. 3:1-5). He has great power and intelligence, and a host of demons who assist him in his attacks against God’s people (Eph. 6:10ff). He is a formable enemy; we must never joke about him, ignore him, or underestimate his ability. We must ‘be sober’ and have our minds under control when it comes to our conflict with Satan.”
