Psalm 34:21-22

“Calamity will surely destroy the wicked, and those who hate the righteous will be punished. But the LORD will redeem those who serve Him. No one who takes refuge in Him will be condemned.”
Psalm 34:21-22 (NLT)

“Christ showed His love by dying for us; we show ours by living for Him.”

Because Jesus Conquered, We Conquer

“These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world.” John 16:33 (NASB)
It is a most comforting fact that Jesus never asks His children to take one step He has not taken before us. When He came into the world He took a body like unto our body, sin apart; and in that body of flesh He conquered the world, the flesh, the devil, death, hell, and the grave. He was tempted in all points as we are, yet without sin.
He died the death of the cross to pay our sin-debt, but it was not possible for death to hold Him (Acts 2:24). He rose from the grave, ascended back to the Father, and He now holds the keys of hell and death (Rev. 1:18). In Him we, too, can have victory–the victory He won for us and because of which He tells us, “Be of good cheer! I have overcome the world.” Believers are in the world, but we are not of the world (John 17:15, 16). Because Jesus conquered, we conquer. The believer lives the Christian life because Christ lives in the believer. Thus we are guaranteed victory over the world, the flesh, and the devil.
