The LORD is my strength and shield,
I trust Him with all my heart.
He helps me, and my heart is filled
I burst out in songs of thanksgiving.
Psalm 28:7 (NLT)
Thank you for the miracles
we are much too blind to see,
And give us new awareness
of our many gifts from Thee,
And help us to remember
that the key to life and living
Is to make each prayer a prayer of
thanks and every day Thanksgiving.

God empowers us to stand for Him as we kneel to pray.
“And whoever wishes to be first among you shall be slave of all. For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.” Mark 10:44-45 (NASB)
Jesus’ words seem to be the ultimate paradox, contradicting everything that we observe about us. Those who succeed in the world often do so by pushing and shoving and trampling on anyone who happens to get in their way as they progress to the top. This happens in politics, business, and, tragically, even the church.
With the words “even the Son of Man,” Jesus showed that He was willing to do more than just define true greatness. He Himself was the prime example of what He was talking about. He had left His position at the right hand of God, not to add to His prestige or glory, but to “serve” the human race. He did not merely go through the motions to impress people. Jesus came “to give His life a ransom for many.” There is no greater model of servanthood than this.
