The Future Is As Bright As The Promises Of God

“But whoever keeps His word, in him the love of God has truly been perfected. By this we know that we are in Him: the one who says he abides in Him ought himself to walk in the same manner as He walked.” 1 John 2:5-6 (NASB)
The “love of God” is much more than mere feeling or emotionalism; it is an active, giving love. For that love to become mature or “perfected” in someone requires a life of active, faithful obedience to Christ. This is what the term “walk” implies. It covers all our activities at home, at work, and at leisure. It challenges us to ask ourselves, “Do people see my everyday conduct as a witness to Christ’s message of salvation and His power to change lives?”
