Thursday Thoughts Ep. 4 – The God of Silence

Life of a Wannabe Jesus

I had this thought the other day when I was alone in my room; no music on, no sounds outside, no loud thoughts. It was just Silent.

I tend to veer away from silence, as most humans do. We want to run away from our nagging thoughts and deep fears.

But,

What if Silence, somehow, is the perfect metaphor of an Omnipresent God?

What if Silence isn’t because of the absolute absence of God, but is the absolute Presence?

I sat there in the Silence, I knew God was with me. Not because of His words, or because of feelings, but  because of this deep surrounding of Silence. It’s something I could never escape, something that will always with me. When all is stripped away the Silence is the one thing left.

It was comforting.

A gentle reminder that God is always with us.

Love, Cassia.

Preserve Me, O God, for I take refuge in You. I said to the LORD, “You are my Lord; I have no good besides You.”

Being Realistic

For All Have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23 (NASB)
“Why do we have wars and rumors of war? Why do we have political corruption and dictatorships and slavery and bondage of many kinds? Why do we have police on every corner and why do we have jails and prisons and insane asylums?
Because we humans are a lost people—and it is a lost world we live in. Anyone who refuses to consider the symptoms is completely unrealistic. . .
The lostness of man is not a dogma—it is a fact. We are not dealing in the realm of fancy. We are dealing with facts as hard and realistic as a brick that goes into the solid construction of a building.”
A.W. Tozer

God loves you and me; let us love one another.

True Believers Never Have To Worry About God Being Inaccessible

“To me, the very least of all saints, this grace was given, to preach to the Gentiles the unfathomable riches of Christ, and to bring what is the administration of the mystery which for the ages has been hidden in God who created all things; so that the manifold wisdom of God might be now made known through the church to the rulers and the authorities in the heavenly places. This was in accordance with the eternal purpose which He carried out in Christ Jesus our Lord, in whom we have boldness and confident access through faith in Him.” Ephesians 3:8:12 (NASB)
Our riches in Christ assure access to God. Just as money in the bank is of no use to us when the bank is closed, grace without access would mean very little. But the Christian never has to worry about God being inaccessible. In fact, God is always willing to reveal His grace to us through His mighty deeds. Someone has said that most Christians are so subnormal in their spiritual lives that when God does what He deems as normal, they think it is abnormal. God is willing to demonstrate His power in the world. Yet some Christians often do not desire that power. They pray little. They praise God only once a week. They seldom witness to others about is mighty deeds. Christians need to stop being timid about accessing the grace of God and pouring it out as we share it with others who need to know Him.

God Loves Us Not Because Of Who We Are, But Because Of Who He Is

People often ask me, “Why did Jesus choose Judas to be one of His disciples?”  My question is, “Why did He choose me?”

“God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”  Romans 5:8 (NKJV)
