The Future Is As Bright As The Promises Of God

Victory Or Defeat ?

“Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed that he does not fall.” 1 Corinthians 10:12 (NASB)
The only way a Christian can be victorious is to depend wholly upon the Holy Spirit within: “You are from God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world” (1 John 4:4).
We should be victorious, and we can be if we will trust and obey; but as long as we live in this life we will be wrapped in a body of flesh, a body capable of committing sin, a body capable of stumbling, a body that is weak and unworthy. But we who are born again have within our bosom the divine nature of God (the Holy Spirit) to lead us into paths of right living.
We overcome because Jesus overcame. In Him, by Him, and through Him we can conquer; but without Him it is impossible to live a victorious life. The person who reaches the place where he or she thinks they are strong enough to overcome the devil is in for a terrible defeat. The reason many believers are not victorious is that they do not recognize the fact of 1 Corinthians 10:12.

  1. So am I to understand that you are saying that Christians can live perfect lives as long as they are surrender to God?
