The Future Is As Bright As The Promises Of God

Was Jesus A Good Man?

“Jesus said to them, ‘Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was born, I am.'” John 8:58 (NASB)
If Jesus was not the Son of God, no preacher should ever call His name from the pulpit. If Jesus was not God in the flesh, no preacher should ever end a prayer in His name or even mention His name when praying to Almighty God. If He was not God — He was not good.
If Jesus was just a good man and not the God-Man, He had no authority to forgive sins. And if Jesus did not have the authority to forgive sins, I do not know where to recommend that you go for forgiveness.
There is no other who would dare claim the authority to forgive sins. If Jesus were not all He claimed to be, you must carry your load of sin all the days of your life and with it face a holy God at the end of life’s journey. The finite can never satisfy the infinite. Man cannot satisfy a holy God. Deity can be satisfied only by Deity. If Jesus were not divine He could never have satisfied the demands of Almighty God. It takes holiness to satisfy holiness.
“Good and upright is the LORD; therefore He instructs sinners in the way. He leads the humble in justice, and He teaches the humble His way. All the paths of the LORD are lovingkindness and truth to those who keep His covenant and His testimonies.” Psalm 25:8-10 (NASB)

Proverbs 3:5-8

Trust in the LORD with all your heart,
and do not rely on
your own understanding;
think about Him in all your ways,
and He will guide you
on the right paths.
Don’t consider yourself to be wise;
fear the LORD and turn away
from evil.
This will be healing for your body
and strengthening for your bones.
Proverbs 3:5-8 (HCSB)

The Good News of the gospel is too good to keep to ourselves

That God May Be All In All

“And He that sat upon the throne said, Behold I make all things new. And He said unto me, Write; for these words are faithful and true” Rev. 21:5 (NASB).
There is a day coming when all sin, wickedness, pain, sorrow, grief, tears, agony, disappointment and anxiety will be done away with. The curse will be lifted, all creation will be delivered from the penalty of the curse, and Jesus Christ, the Son of God, will reign until all enemies become His footstool. All of this will be in order that God may be all in all.
“For God has put everything under His feet. But when it says ‘everything’ is put under Him, it is obvious that He who puts everything under Him is the exception. And when everything is subject to Christ, the Son Himself will also be subject to the One who subjected everything to Him, so that God may be all in all” 1 Cor. 15:27-28 (HCSB).

Followers Of Jesus Need This World

“. . .you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth.” Acts 1:8 (NASB)
Yes, we followers of Jesus need this world. We need a point on which we can focus our love and concern. We must be engaged with the world, taking the leap of faith that affirms belief in God’s power expressed in Christ, namely, that the lost can find salvation. That hope can transform the hopeless ones: the poor, the prisoners, the blind, and the oppressed. As we seek to play our part in God’s redemptive mission, we must engage the world, with confidence that the Spirit of the Lord is upon us, the followers of Christ who make up His Church today.
