The Future Is As Bright As The Promises Of God

Everybody Has Faith In Something

“We give thanks to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you, since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and the love which you have for all the saints; because of the hope laid up for you in heaven, of which you previously heard in the word of truth, the gospel.” Colossians 1:3-5 (NASB)
“There are many messages and ideas that can be called true, but only God’s Word can be called truth. Satan is the liar; to believe his lies is to led astray into death (John 8:44). Jesus is the Truth (John 14:6); when we trust Him, we experience life. Men have tried to destroy God’s truth, but they have failed. The Word of God still stands!
Everybody has faith in something. But faith is only as good as the object in which a person puts his trust. The jungle pagan worships a god of stone; the educated city pagan worships money or possessions or status. In both cases, faith is empty. The true Christian believer has faith in Jesus Christ, and that faith is based on the Word of truth. Any other kind of faith is but superstition–it cannot save.”

The True Light Came Into The World

“He came unto His own, and those who were His own did not receive Him. But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name, who were born, not of blood not of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.” John 1:11-14 (NASB)
People become children of God through faith in Jesus Christ, who came to reveal His Father. The Gospel offers relationship with God. The God who created all things by His Word brought the possibility of a new form of existence by that same Word who became flesh. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is an expression of the character of the kind of God who would create a world and continue to care about it. The problems of this world derive from humanity’s lack of faith in its Creator, but salvation comes through faith in that Creator who reveals Himself fully through His Son.
“He has rescued us from the domain of darkness and transferred us into the kingdom of the Son He loves, in whom we have redemption, and the forgiveness of sins. He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation; because by Him everything was created, in heaven and on earth, the visible and the invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities — all things have been created through Him and for Him.” Colossians 1:13-16 (HCSB)
