Because He Is God

“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” Genesis 1:1 (NASB)
God created everything out of nothing. That means that God is radically, completely, totally different from everything else that exists. The doctrine of creation is the doctrine that reminds us that God is utterly transcendent, completely free, and absolutely sovereign. It is the doctrine of creation that reminds us that God is God. His ways are not our ways — and He can work in ways that are worlds beyond our understanding and comprehension. God can do what He chooses to do — because He is God.
