Choosing For All Eternity
“Knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance. It is the Lord Christ whom you serve.” Colossians 3:24 (NASB)
Today we can choose. Do we hear God’s Word and obey? Do we worship obediently on the Lord’s Day (Hebrews 10:25)? Do we go about our daily tasks, understanding that we are working to bring glory to the Lord (Colossians 3:22-24)? Is Jesus truly the Lord of our homes? Are we daily presenting our bodies as living sacrifices acceptable to God, serving Him in sincerity and truth (Romans 12:10)? Do we reflect a heart in tune with God’s aims and desires (Matthew 12:34-37)? Are we obedient in our minds, keeping our thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable (Philippians 4:8)?
Yes, today we can choose. However the consequences of those choices affect much more than today. We are also choosing for all eternity.
