A Gift Free For The Asking

The most reasonable thing a person can do is to come to God and trust in His Christ because He has made all things ready, and His unspeakable gift is free. God’s only begotten Son purchased our salvation at the cost of His own life and His own shed blood. Eternal life is ours for the taking, through faith in the finished work of Jesus.
If it were necessary for a person to reach certain standards before being eligible for salvation, I am afraid most of us would be left out. If it were necessary to have a required amount of money in the bank, or live in a certain section of the country, or have a diploma from a certain university, or reach a given moral standard–all before we could be saved–then most of us would not be eligible to receive God’s salvation. But such is not the case. The only requirement we must meet before we can have an audience with God is simply to obey His command and come to Him. So if you have a desire to receive the blessings of God upon your life, if you want to come into the family of heaven, all you need do is come to Him.
