The Future Is As Bright As The Promises Of God

Jesus Took Our Sins On Himself

“For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures.” 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 (NKJV)
“Jesus took our sins on Himself; His death took the penalty that our sins deserved. And, wonder of wonders, God then credited the righteousness of Jesus to us! With sin paid for, there was no longer a barrier between human beings and God. With Jesus’ own righteousness credited to our account, we are welcome to enter God’s presence.” — Lawrence Richards, The Bible
“Surely our griefs He Himself bore, and our sorrows He carried; Yet we ourselves esteem Him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But He was pierced through for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the chastening for our well-being fell upon Him, and by His scourging we are healed. All of us like sheep have gone astray, each of us had turned to his own way; but the LORD has caused the iniquity of us all to fall on Him.” Isaiah 53:4-6 (NASB)

If The Fruit Is Not Right, There Is Something Wrong With The Tree

“For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light–for the fruit of the light results in all goodness, righteousness, and truth–discerning what is pleasing to the Lord.” Ephesians 5:8-10 (HCSB)
If we are saved we automatically do good because of the goodness of God who abides in our hearts. We will live righteously because of the righteousness of Christ which is imputed to us. Righteousness within produces righteousness without–a pure heart produces pure thoughts, pure thoughts produce pure actions. Thus the life of the true believer will be pure, setting an example before the unsaved which will create within them a desire to know Christ as their Savior. We who profess to be saved should take stock of our life and see how our daily living measures up to the trinity of fruits produced by the light. If the fruit is not right, there is something wrong with the tree. Jesus said, “By their fruits you shall know them.”
