A Dangerous Enemy

“Be alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. Stand firm against him, and be strong in your faith. He is a destroyer (Rev. 12:11; ‘Abaddon’ and ‘Apollyon’ both mean ‘destruction’) and accuser (Rev. 12:9-11; Zech. 3:1-5). He has great power and intelligence, and a host of demons who assist him in his attacks against God’s people (Eph. 6:10ff). He is a formable enemy; we must never joke about him, ignore him, or underestimate his ability. We must ‘be sober’ and have our minds under control when it comes to our conflict with Satan.”
