Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see. Through their faith, the people in days of old earned a good reputation.
By faith we understand that the entire universe was formed at God’s command, that what we now see did not come from anything that can be seen.
Hebrews 11:1-3 (NLT)
All we really ever need
Is faith as a grain of mustard seed,
For all God asks is that you believe,
For if you do, ye shall receive.

The Bible is to a thirsty soul what water is to a barren land.
“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:9 (NASB)
Perhaps we acknowledge regularly in our public and private prayers that we are sinners, unworthy of God’s favor. But a more detailed confession is needed. The forgiveness and cleansing mentioned in 1 John 1:9 come as we bring before God our daily blunders, failures, and transgressions. Have we lied? Have we entertained lust in our hearts? Have we acted selfishly? Have we spoken harshly? We must confess all our sins, and with God’s help forsake them. If we fail to do this, we hamper the Holy Spirit’s power at work in us.
